Howdy! My name is Dmitri Orion. I am a sober, lesbian, cheesemaker and farmer! I grew up spending time on my grandparents’ farm in Texas, and in the past few years I worked as a cheesemonger both at Bedford Cheese Shop in New York City, and at a smaller shop in New Jersey, where I really got to hone my creative skills when it came to cheese boards and grazing tables. After spending last summer as an Apprentice on a raw milk micro-dairy in Vermont, I am currently working at Cherry Grove Farm, in New Jersey, where I am a Cheesemaking Apprentice, learning to make some ACS award-winning raw milk cheeses as well as a luscious pasteurized bloomy rind cheese. In addition to my time spent in the creamery, I also work on the farm side, with the dairy cows, pastured chickens, and heritage pigs, and create custom catering orders available within the NJ, Philly, and NYC areas.
